Karolina is an Illustrator and printmaker who explores traditional illustration techniques with a focus on lino-cut. Walk by walk she reveals the British landscape and reminders of those who came before, creating illustrations which capture the charm of stories passed on by word of mouth.  She aims to encourage people to engage in folk culture and to cherish it, so that it can be enjoyed by those who come after us.​

Her current project, ‘Folkin’ Around’, is an entirely lino-cut, illustrated guide to history, nature and folklore in Edinburgh. Through ramblings and wanderings you are guided in uncovering a whole city full of secrets through every season, encouraged to get messy and be hands on with history. It explores the playful way we can re-connect with nature and history through visiting monuments, churches, local pubs as well as celebrating festivals which allow folk culture to thrive. ​
